Applicants and potential hires, today, have many embellishments and discrepancies on their resumes. This is in part due to many job seekers in the market and overuse and overreliance of programs that scan for keywords when looking for a potential hire. It’s important to seek alternate methods to validate and verify their accomplishments to ensure they’re suitable for the job. Checking their social media presence is one.
Alternately, picking a random resume has its benefits rather than relying on a computer generated algorithm to find you a perfect hire or potential interviewee. A person with a humble CV could potentially be better than someone with an embellished CV. At the end of the day, you should ask yourself: Is this a critical position? Is this an entry level position? A person with a humble resume may be pleasant person to work with than someone slightly more qualified.
